Remote but not Removed: Shaping Digital Futures that Include Everyone

Digital health is transforming how we prevent, monitor, and manage health, but rural and remote communities often risk being left behind. This keynote will explore how digital innovations can be designed and implemented to be inclusive, equitable, and responsive to diverse local contexts. Drawing on lessons from rural and remote settings, it will highlight strategies to ensure that the future of health is truly accessible for all - no matter where they live.

Keynote session

Learning health system strategies in the AI era

As healthcare systems face rising costs, fragmented infrastructure, and rapid digital disruption, the imperative to translate data into measurable value has never been greater. In this keynote, Dr. Peter Steel explores how the Learning Health System (LHS) offers a bold yet practical blueprint for health systems to thrive in the AI era. By treating clinical data as a strategic asset—not just a byproduct of care—LHS models enable continuous learning, agile innovation, and scalable impact. Drawing on global examples and recent U.S. policy shifts, this talk will unpack how healthcare leaders can embed research, digital infrastructure, and adaptive workflows to turn real-time data into system-wide improvement.
