Information for Sydney Presenters

Oral Abstract Presentations

Presentations are an important part of the event program. In order to showcase the diversity of digital health research happening, Digital Health Week 2026 is running a number of streams showcasing a large number of presentations. Specific details of your stream and time will be available in the final program for the event.

  • You must submit your presentation files so that these are available on the day via this Qualtrics form. Prepare your slides for widescreen (16:9)

    To encourage sharing of ideas across the sites, we request that you also submit a recording of your presentation. By submitting the recording, you consent to us sharing the presentation on the University of Sydney Digital Health and Informatics Network’s Youtube Channel. 

    Due date for final presentation files and recording submission is COB Friday 12th December.

  • Oral presentations are for a maximum of 7 minutes. Digital Health Week 2026 encourages use of the Pecha Kucha presentation style.

    This presentation style uses 20 slides, allocating 20 seconds to talk to each slide (6 minutes 40 seconds).

    This particular style has been chosen to encourage dynamic, progressive storytelling and ensure that all presenters are allocated equal time, and visual aids, for their presentations.

    After presenting, each speaker will be allocated 2 minutes of question time from the audience.

    Note: Pecha Kucha style is not essential - if you have another innovative presentation style, we welcome you to use this also but adhere to the timing of a maximum of 7 minutes.

    Digital Health week encourages the use of person centred language throughout the conference. Please refer to the language guides below. You may also like to consider language guidelines for your specific health topic area:

Posters

Posters are an integral part of the event program and will be displayed in-person during the first day of the event at Sydney (Tuesday 3rd of February from 1pm-1:30pm).

    1. If you would like to submit a PDF of your poster to be uploaded you can. 

    2. Think about whether a) you might like to print some A4 handouts of your posters to give to delegates, and/or b) you might like to use a QR code to provide more information about the study.

Step 1

Poster Dimensions

Please print your poster in portrait orientation, maximum size A0 (841 mm wide x 1189mm high). All text lettering, diagrams and content should be large enough to be read from 1.5m away.

Set-up

Tuesday 3rd February (8am-9:15am). Please let the registration desk know that you have a poster and they will provide you with instructions and materials e.g. pins.

Step 3

Poster Session

Poster presenters are requested to be present beside their poster during the second half of lunch (1-1:30pm) for the dedicated Poster Session  to speak with delegates about your work.


Voting: Judges will be circulating during the poster session.

Step 4

Take-down

Please either remove your poster after the poster session or by the end of the networking event on Tuesday 3rd February (5pm). Any posters not removed will be discarded.

Prizes

Prizes will be awarded to both abstract and poster presenters in Sydney. 

There are a total of five abstract presenter prizes available for best oral presentation.

There are two Poster prizes available:

  • Judges Choice

  • People’s Choice Poster (based on number of votes received)

FAQs

  • All presentations will be run in person. Please prepare your slides for widescreen (16:9)

    All conference rooms will be supplied with data projection (i.e. PowerPoint), laptop computers (PC) or monitors, screens, microphone, and audio speakers. Here are some tips for PowerPoint presentations 

    1. Be consistent with the look of your presentation - ensure that fonts and colours are consistent throughout your presentation.

    2. Focus on key messages, be short and concise. 

    3. Font size should be no smaller than 20ppt and try to use bullet points instead of paragraphs.

    4. Design your slides in the correct screen ratio (16:9) will help to avoid stretched or cut off text, images and logos. The correct ratio can be set by going to Themes > Page set up > Slide size > Widescreen (16:9).

    5. Ensure sufficient contrast between the font and the background 

    6. Use videos, images and graphs to add variety to your presentation. Keep data on a chart, graph or illustration simple.

    7. Embed your video files into your presentation to ensure smooth transition between slides. 

  • Yes. Please submit your presentation files here. Presentation files for oral presentations need to be submitted by COB Friday 12th December 2025. Presentation files will only be used on the day of the conference and will not be made publicly available.

  • Slides and recordings for oral presentations need to be submitted by COB Friday 12th December 2025. Slides will only be used as a back-up on the day of the conference and will not be made publicly available. You do not have to submit the recording but this will allow you to share your research across the three sites. By submitting the recording, you consent to us sharing the video recording on the University of Sydney Digital Health and Informatics Network’s Youtube Channel. If you want to provide a recording, please follow this link to read tips to help you prepare for your recorded presentation

    For University of Sydney: Your poster does not need to be submitted, however if you would like to submit a PDF of your poster, this will allow us to share it more widely with Digital Health Week attendees across sites.

    Please ensure you follow the presenter guidelines prior to submitting your files. Please note that due to the large number of presenters, we will not be accepting any presentation slides on the day.   • For the oral abstract presentations, your time slot includes 7 minutes for your presentation followed by 2 minutes of Q&A. Please keep within this slot when presenting. The session chair will be keeping time, facilitating fairness to subsequent speakers and delegates.

    For the Poster presentations, you will have an opportunity to provide an informal overview of your work to those who visit your poster, with an opportunity to answer questions during the session.

  • On the day, we ask you to be in the room no less than 10 mins prior to the start of your session. Before your session, you will be welcomed by the Chair of your session.
